My goal is to use my extensive training in issues of inequality and the ways people find to resist oppression to further struggles for justice with writing (mine and others’), organizational support, public teaching, and more.
My primary expertise is on alternative education projects, horizontal forms of decision making, and the role of solidarity, with a focus on Latin America. I love talking pedagogy! As a writer, I focus on abolition in diverse facets of life, within and beyond the criminal legal system. I am also a gender scholar with a deep and personal interest in feminisms and trans experiences.
As a public sociologist, I:
run workshops
work with scholars on their books and articles
write and publish broadly
teach classes
design community-based research
work as an activist
